What we envision, what we set our sights on and remain focused on, determines our course. Our vision is either aligned with God, or it is not. Proper visual alignment requires spiritual knowledge of God’s word, which is to say that that it requires progressive revelation of Christ to our spirit by God Himself.
It is God’s great love and purpose to reveal His Son to and in His beloved children: Christ in you, the hope of glory (Col. 1:27b). Yet it is incumbent upon us to seek the Lord with all our inmost being, to keep our sights on Him, and repent when we do otherwise. In His great wisdom, God has given us free will; He is glorified through our willful determination to habitually put off our old selves and put on our new selves. Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
A scripture I firmly believe in and stand on. Without appropriating and activating this in our walk with the Lord, it would be like being stuck in quicksand.
