…at least believe on the evidence of the miracles themselves. I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. (John 14:11b-12)
And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name… they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well. (Mark 16:17-18b)
Few professing Christians in the Western world truly know these words, believe them, and then carry them out in accordance with the Holy Spirit. As a true believer and as a recently-retired physician, my heart is heavy about this! These Scriptures still apply today since Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever (Heb. 13:8).
Deceit and unbelief not only disarm Christians of their authority in Christ, but thwart many souls from coming to Him, for many people saw the miracles he was performing and believed in his name (John 2:23). To the glory of God, it is an ex-worldly-minded born-again Texas Baptist professing this to you here and now! 😊
All but one of those whom Jesus and the apostles healed by the spirit of the Lord appear to have been fully healed instantly (the blind man described in Mark 8:22-26 is the exception). Oddly enough, God’s miraculous healings of myself and of my family members via my faith in Christ have ALL had a significant time delay, usually from days to weeks after speaking forth His omnipotent word. Of course, the challenging delays always cause me to walk by faith and not by sight even more than I would if the healings were to come instantaneously…
