Endurance as Power for the Christian

The Lord Is With Us

True power in men is measured by endurance. The most powerful person ever was Jesus Christ, who patiently endured the scorn of angry sinners against themselves, empowered by the Holy Spirit to know the glorious end result of the suffering of His soul (see Hebrews 12:3 and Isaiah 53:11 margins). The most powerful man alive is the one who similarly endures opposition yoked to Christ – he clearly is empowered supernaturally by God. That person rejoices in his sufferings just as Christ and His apostles did, knowing that God is accomplishing His will, saving and sanctifying men therein for their benefit and His glory.
