Part 2: Made Perfect in Christ

So here is Part 2 for those of you who missed it, and as a review for those who read it a few weeks ago. God bless you!

The Lord Is With Us

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead (1 Pet. 1:3 NIV)

When we are born again, we are baptized into Christ’s death and are raised to newness of life, which is God’s intended life for us, a second humanity referred to in the original Greek as “the Christ” (see Introduction). In God’s mind, there actually is no more Adam, for the last Adam was crucified: Christ lived a perfect life for us then bore the wrath of God and died on our behalf – He did this to become for us a life-giving spirit, …the second man, …the heavenly man (1 Cor. 15:45-49). 1. Thank you Lord that you have sparked a fire in my heart as I’ve read this and renewed my mind and given me a spirit of gratitude for all you have done for me and that you walk with me every day! That old man may try to come out but your Spirit wins every time, showing me that old man is dead and gone! I am a new creation in you Christ and I choose to live on the red side!

    1. Amen. Discernment is also key since every Christian has an old (already crucified!) self trying to preserve itself and deceive , and the new (true) self one spirit with God in Christ. Frankly, every hour I am presented with opportunities to deny self or deny Christ (another way of looking at our spiritual warfare).

  2. I had to make a special bookmark so I can dig into your stuff. My two kids in diapers make that balance a challenge! So, I will get there, but I am so glad to have this little corner of encouragement to turn to!!

    1. My oldest turned 23 today, and it truly seems like just a couple of years since she and her sister were in diapers! I am truly blessed to be a conduit of Christ and to be encouragement in Him for a fellow pilgrim – thanks so much for taking the time to read and share!

      1. It is like I need to hire a baby-sitter so I can sit and read all of the things I want to sit and read! There is such a lovely group of believers on this platform! 🙂
