Know Your Identity in Christ

The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work. No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God’s seed remains in him; he cannot go on sinning because he has been born of God.– 1 John 3:8b-9

But you know that he appeared so that he might take away our sins. And in him is no sin. No one who lives in him keeps on sinning. – 1 John 3:5-6a

We know that anyone born of God does not continue to sin; the one who was born of God keeps him safe, and the evil one cannot harm him. – 1 John 5:18

This is the word of God. Do you KNOW it?

Do you BELIEVE it?

The righteous walk by FAITH, not by SIGHT!

…if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin. – 1 John 1:7

KNOW the TRUTH, fellow Christians, and BE set free! It is finished. (John 19:30)

There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not live according to the sinful nature but according to the Spirit. For through Christ Jesus, the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death. – Romans 8:1-2

Amen! Hallelujah!

  1. Amen! We read Mark 15 today. As we relived our Lord’s crucifixion, we talked about this very issue! We are covered by the blood of the Lamb. God does not see our filthy rags! Hallelujah!

  2. The Lord has been emphasizing to me that when Christians focus on Jesus and truly know our redeemed holy identity in Christ, these Scriptures are fulfilled (we do not continue to sin – we stumble, but it is NOT our nature to sin). Sadly, most truly repentant Christians are deceived into focusing on our occasional sins, and mistakenly identify ourselves as sinners; Satan succeeds in deceiving most Christians from knowing the glorious truths in today’s Scriptures.
Christians who speak of trying to “become Christ-like” are deceived regarding their true identity: they ALREADY ARE OF Christ! This issue of knowing our true identity is key!

  3. Reblogged this on The Lord Is With Us and commented:

Hello dear companions in the suffering and kingdom and patient endurance that are ours in Christ Jesus! The Holy Spirit is nudging me to interrupt the “Our Exalted Position” series with this key word from January. Isn’t it wonderful how He is tying this all together?!

  4. “They ALREADY ARE OF CHRIST” in your comment is so important! To personalize it we would say I AlREADY AM Of CHRIST! This is such a huge shift in thinking and perception vs “trying to become Christ-like” (also from your comment). Huge shift in thinking is not sufficient to describe the difference. ” it is finished” has to be in this message as you beautifully include. So much to think about and pray about here! This is a post that needs to be read and re read!
