Be Still and Know that I Am God

In quietness and confidence shall be your strength – Is. 30:15

All agitation is destructive of good. All calm is constructive of good, and at the same time destructive of evil.

When man wants evil destroyed so often he rushes into action. It is wrong. First be still and know that I am God. Then act only as I tell you. Always calm with God. Calm is trust in action. Only trust, perfect trust can keep one calm.

Never be afraid of any circumstances or difficulties that help you to cultivate this calm. As the world, to attain, has to learn speed, you, to attain, have to learn calm. All great work for me is done first in the individual soul of the worker.

These are words two English women who wished to remain anonymous heard from the Lord during a blessed season in 1933 during which they sought Him together daily – published as May 10 entry in the highly recommended devotional book, God Calling, A. J. Russell (Ed.), Barbour Publishing, 1984.

    1. Yes sister, causing panic is a tactic the enemy always uses. And the Lord knowing His sheep are easily made afraid said to them, ‘There are many things I want to tell you but you are not able to bear them now/yet’

John 16:12 “I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now.
Joh 16:13 However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.

Many things the Spirit makes known to us in private are not for the majority of believers to hear because they are may not be able to bear the weight of that word yet.
As someone who is prophetic and a watchman I see things that most do not want to hear about…including my wife! Then why do I see them? To pray.
God shows me the approaching storm and the havoc it will cause, but no one will listen. It is more pertinent for me to be the one who stands in the gap.

Isa 63:5 I looked, but there was no one to help, And I wondered That there was no one to uphold; Therefore My own arm brought salvation for Me; And My own fury, it sustained Me.

I suspect you have a similar calling though I only just met you.

Like Jeremiah we are called to pull down and to destroy the works of darkness and to plant and to build and to establish with our prophetic utterances in prayer….declaring what will be and what shall be.

Jer 1:5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.”
Jer 1:6 Then said I: “Ah, Lord GOD! Behold, I cannot speak, for I am a youth.”
Jer 1:7 But the LORD said to me: “Do not say, ‘I am a youth,’ For you shall go to all to whom I send you, And whatever I command you, you shall speak.
Jer 1:8 Do not be afraid of their faces, For I am with you to deliver you,” says the LORD.
Jer 1:9 Then the LORD put forth His hand and touched my mouth, and the LORD said to me: “Behold, I have put My words in your mouth.
Jer 1:10 See, I have this day set you over the nations and over the kingdoms, To root out and to pull down, To destroy and to throw down, To build and to plant.”

“The Lord is calling and who will hear Him this day. Who will enter into their prayer chamber and call upon the name of the most high God? For it is He who is bringing what many shall fear, but it is not to destroy but to build and to plant..for what I allow is what I bring. Know that in the troubled times I am with you and in the darkness I am there, for there is nothing that can hide from me and nothing that can harm you if you walk in the secret place with me. I am to be trusted above all else. I am like no other you have known. For though the days be dark and the way seem narrow I am even now leading with a candle in the darkness, do you see it, will you follow that small leading and that light? I have called you to blow a trumpet for me, and you shall blow it my sister…so in these days as you prepare your heart before me I am sowing much into your heart and mind. Take hold on shield and buckler, take hold on the spear of my armoury, for I have equipped you in the secret place of my quiver, ever there have I honed you and hidden you, and you shall come forth a polished arrow says the Lord. So do not fear what they may say, do not be in a hurry either for my timing is always ready, always clear. Look not to the right hand nor to the left just stay rooted and grounded in me and I will lead you both together for it is together that I call you. Many are saying “What are you doing? You cannot do this, you cannot do that!” But I will make a way for you to be heard for what I have put in your mouth must go forth for it is my word in these days says the Lord.”
      Phewww!
I did not expect that! That is a prophetic word for you Deanna.. came just as I was writing. Glory to God!
      Blessings

      2. Praise God for His word spoken through the lips of His prophets! Thank you dear brother for loving and obeying Him as you do. Jer, 1:9-10 is VERY dear to my heart, and so many others. Yes, He called me to intercede, and mainly by my life being the intercession (this is the case with all prophets, isn’t it?!) By His grace I receive these words and am herein empowered to obey them for preparing God’s people for works of service, that the Body of Christ will be built up… What an amazing Father! What an awesome Lord! Hallelujah!! May He continue blessing you dear brother who encourages! ❤️
